For the festival I was involved in managing the "Black Wolf Stage". This was the mainstage for the festival and had multiple groups performing, this included bands, comedians, and performers. This introduced me to a new aspect of live sound that is mixing a band and multiple instruments. This is also where I used an analog board for the first time.
One of the bands I had to mix was Rota Temporis, an Italian medieval folk band. This band was very base heavy with multiple massive drums. They also had 2 bagpipes, which made for an interesting sound. Overall this was an interesting challenge finding how to mix them since it was a strange combination of instruments.
The board we were using at the Black Wolf Stage was this 28 channel Allen & Heath GL2400 board. This board apparently survived being dunked in mud during a really bad rainstorm but as a result of that some of the controls were still gummed up. Prior to this show I had only ever used my school's very digital 32 channel Yamaha TF5. This meant I had to take everything I'd learned from that board and understand that all the knobs of the A&H board did the same thing.
